About Us

Thought I might share a little about our family. The picture to the right was our favorite. We were married in November, 1984 in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. We are approaching our silver anniversary and are hoping to be on the road when that happens.

My name is Rickey (Rick) for short. I am 52 yrs old, a veteran of the U.S. Air Force (73-77) and the U. S. Army (79-83). I have worked in Law Enforcement, been a laborer, real estate, a process server, and also worked in a Casino as a games dealer and supervisor. I had asthma all of my life but have recently developed what has been diagnosed as COPD which has put me on disability and continuous oxygen.

My beautiful wife's name is Ramona (Mona) for short. She is ..... well, young. I love her to much to tell her age. She is currently a Table games supervisor at a Riverboat Casino in Illinois. She has worked as a secretary, waitress, manager of a Pizza Hut, and a great housewife.

As for children, Mona's daughter Sarah (deceased) and Rick's son Charles (25 living in Florida).

Introduction

This blog is being set up for my wife and I to allow us to share our travel experiences with loved ones and anyone else that may be interested. We are preparing to start the rest of our lives as full-time RVers. We intend to become Workampers while seeing the country as we go. Unfortunately, my wife is still working and I am on disability, so we have not yet been able to start. Our goal is to have the motorhome as well as our Jeep paid off and a nestegg of cash before we go. We also are in process of selling our house.

We will post about once a week until we get on the road. After we start traveling we will post every few days or possibly even daily. I will always post pics to go with the travels. Enjoy!
